Because many of you have asked, we thought we’d share some of our 12th Annual Walk in the Country information with you.

We welcomed over 600 guests and made approximately $180,000 to support BGCH programs and services! We are proud of this accomplishment and only have you to thank for your support. View photos.

This year was also a year of firsts. It’s the first time we’ve had the privilege listening to Brothers Cazimero serenade the crowd and bring us back to our hanabatta days. The first time we had a dedicated martini bar that served some delicious li hing martinis. Although it isn’t the first time we’ve had an auction, it was indeed the first time we had a toilet seat bidet for sale!

Please take a moment to fill out our online survey to help us plan for next year. In fact, our date has been set for 2009! Walk in the Country – August 29, 2009, same place (Lanikuhonua), same time (5 pm – 9 pm).

Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii

12th Annual Walk in the Country
Saturday, August 16, 2008
Lanikuhonua, Ko Olina
5:00 p.m.

This year’s theme, “Cracked Seed,” reflects what many of us fondly refer to as our “hanabutta days.”  For us, “Cracked Seed” is also symbolic of a time in Hawaii’s history (not so very long ago we might add!) when Hawaiian music made an explosive come back on the island scene (thank goodness for that!).  We are proud and humbled to have been part of that historic moment in Hawaii nei.

Get a group of friends together and come out to celebrate Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii with us.  Not only will you be supporting a very worthy organization which serves over 17,000 Hawaii keiki on Oahu and Kauai, but there are special surprises in store that guarantee another memorable Walk in the Country evening.  Meet and greet local artists, including local radio personality Frank B. Shaner of KUMU, under the silent auction tent.  Taste specially selected wines or martinis – from the martini bar that we’ll be launching this year!  This year’s food menu will again be coordinated and provided by d.k. Kodama’s friendly and able crew.  We might even be persuaded to sing a song or two, but you’ll have to be there or you’ll miss it!

A hui hou,

Robert Cazimero & Roland Cazimero, Honorary Co-Chairs
Renee Gomes & Kalowena Komeiji, Event Chairs

P.S. Can’t make it, but still would like to contribute? Make an online gift today.
